Why is it unnecessary to fully fill the slewing bearing with lubricant before leaving the factory?
The customer reported that the slewing bearing experienced difficulty in rotation. After preliminary analysis, the issue is likely caused by prolonged storage without operation, where the lubricant partially solidified in low-temperature conditions, increasing frictional resistance. During the inspection at our facility, we thoroughly cleaned the internal lubricant and refilled a small amount of fresh lubricant. The slewing bearing subsequently regained normal operational performance.
Here is an important reminder: slewing bearings are pre-filled with a small amount of lubricant before leaving the factory. Customers are required to fill the bearing with new lubricant according to their specific needs before formal operation. If the slewing bearing is stored for an extended period without operation, particularly in low-temperature environments, excessive lubricant may solidify and increase rotational resistance. If the motor's power design lacks sufficient capacity, this can result in rotational difficulties. Therefore, we recommend customers inspect and properly refill the lubricant as specified before putting the equipment into operation and avoid prolonged inactivity.
